Gorgeous Day in Denver!

It was an absolutely perfect day in Denver today.  Temps in the mid 80's, beautiful Colorado blue skies and the many splendid fragrances of spring.  Our lilac bush is in full bloom and I stopped to enjoy its perfectly sweet smell countless times today.  It hasn't been every year here in Denver that the lilac bushes have bloomed.  It is quite common that just as it's buds are about to open we will get a huge snow storm. That always makes me sad.  There is something about lilacs that brings me back to my childhood in an instant.  Perhaps it's because for the couple weeks when they were in bloom, my mom would create a huge bouquets of them for the dinning table. I love their delicate flowers that typically are found in the most perfect shade of purple.
