I'm excited to have recieved our new mid-century French inspired stools for the new pad. Our new home has a breakfast bar, and upon first seeing it, my mind went to these oh so charming stools. I've always admired them but didn't have an excuse for them until now! The original Tolix chairs were designed by Xavier Pauchard who initiated the galvanisation techniques in France. Originally, this seating was used in factories, offices, hospitals and public parks. In the mid 1900s, breweries began to supply them to bars in the in exchange for selling their beer.
And, it was then thereafter that it became commonplace to see them in bars and cafes around France. Love these stools; love all things French!
Bonne nuit!
xoxo Heather
